Why Buy Refurbished
Unbeatable Value
Refurbished IT hardware offers an unbeatable way to save 50% to 90% compared to the cost of new servers, PCs, or laptops, all while delivering top-tier performance. For businesses seeking high-spec upgrades without the premium price tag, refurbished components like CPUs, RAM and storage drives provide exceptional reliability at a fraction of the cost.
New hardware prices often reflect high research, development and marketing expenses. However, once corporations and public sector organisations refresh their equipment, those costs are absorbed, opening up significant savings in the secondary market. At Bargain Hardware, our extensive inventory of components allows you to customise your build with premium specs while staying budget-friendly.
Business-Class Hardware
At Bargain Hardware, every server, desktop PC, workstation and laptop we refurbish has been carefully removed from working environments and subjected to rigorous diagnostics both before and after arriving at our facility. We exclusively sell business-class hardware that has already proven its reliability in real-world conditions and undergone extensive testing to ensure it remains in excellent working order.
This in-situ usage and thorough testing often result in hardware that is more reliable than brand-new systems, which typically lack the same level of burn-in testing. We stand behind the quality of our refurbished products, which is why the majority of our build-to-order systems come with a standard 3-year Return to Base warranty, giving you peace of mind and confidence in your purchase.
Reliability, Durability, Performance
We specialise in providing enterprise class IT systems; including ranges such as HPE ProLiant and Dell PowerEdge servers to HP Z Series and Dell Precision workstations, as well as HP EliteDesk and Dell OptiPlex desktop PCs, our range is built to meet the rigorous demands of corporate and public sector environments.
These professional-grade systems are engineered with top-tier components, robust build quality and enhanced security features, ensuring dependable performance where it matters most. We make business-class computing affordable without compromising on quality or performance.
Environmental Sustainability
Opting for refurbished IT hardware is a sustainable and environmentally friendly choice that helps reduce e-waste and conserve valuable resources. By reusing high-quality equipment, you minimise the demand for raw materials and energy-intensive manufacturing processes, significantly lowering your carbon footprint.
With millions of desktop computers and servers retired each year, refurbished hardware provides a practical way to extend the lifecycle of IT equipment and reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills. At Bargain Hardware, we are dedicated to promoting green IT solutions by offering reliable, high-performing refurbished systems that align with both your technology needs and our responsibility to the planet.
Our Refurbishment Process
1 Goods In
After being carefully removed from its working environment, used hardware destined for refurbishment is delivered to our facility. We source this equipment exclusively from trusted vendors with whom we maintain close relationships.
Upon arrival, the hardware is meticulously unloaded and stored in our pallet storage area, joining the inbound processing queue where it awaits thorough inspection and refurbishment.
2 Cleaning
We meticulously remove all dirt and dust from inside the system, cleaning vents, fans and surfaces with professional-grade products to ensure optimal cleanliness. Any labels or asset tags are carefully removed and vinyl wrapping is occasionally applied to enhance the appearance of surfaces that need it.
Once cleaned and restored, the equipment is prepped and sent to the grading stage for further processing.
3 Grading
In the grading department, equipment is carefully inspected and cosmetically evaluated to determine its physical condition. Each item is assigned a grade of A or B based on its cosmetic condition. Machines that do not meet the minimum B-grade standard are not sold as complete units but are instead repurposed for parts.
For further details, you can review our grading criteria on the item grading page.
4 Inbound Test & Audit
After cleaning and grading, all systems and components undergo rigorous stress testing using our proprietary inbound diagnostics software and the appropriate manufacturer’s tools. This ensures that every item meets our strict standards for full functionality and performance.
Additionally, secondary checks are performed to confirm that all data from previous use has been completely erased, guaranteeing both reliability and security for the next user.
5 Disassembly
To offer the widest selection of components for your custom build configuration, all systems are carefully stripped down to their base configuration - typically consisting of just the chassis and motherboard.
Each component is meticulously prepared to ensure it meets our quality standards before being added to our inventory.
6 Inventory & Put-Away
Individual components are catalogued, placed in secure anti-static storage containers and added to our state-of-the-art inventory system.
This inventory is part of a live system directly linked to the Bargain Hardware website, enabling customers to see real-time stock levels of all available items - helping to prevent delays or out-of-stock surprises during checkout
7 Picking
When orders for configure-to-order systems or individual components are received, stock is reserved and picking instructions are generated for the corresponding warehouse locations. The picking team retrieves the required parts and moves them to the assembly area for build-to-order servers, workstations, PCs and laptops.
For orders consisting of individual components, the items are sent directly to the dispatch area, ensuring efficient processing and timely delivery.
8 Assembly
All custom-built servers, workstations, desktop PCs and laptops are assembled in-house by our expert technicians within a static-free environment. This controlled setting ensures the highest level of care and precision during the assembly process.
Our technicians take great pride in their craftsmanship, striving to achieve a build quality that matches or exceeds the standards of the original OEM assembly. Their dedication ensures every system delivers exceptional performance and reliability.
9 Testing & Quality Control
Assembled systems undergo rigorous testing to ensure performance and reliability. Using a mix of proprietary software and OEM diagnostics, we evaluate RAM, CPU, motherboard, hard drives and optical drives. Physical inspections of ports, chassis, covers and mounting brackets are also performed, along with necessary firmware upgrades.
To confirm durability, we run burn-in tests simulating real-world loads on all components. Only systems that pass these strict checks are approved for fulfilment and dispatch, ensuring they meet our quality standards before reaching customers.

We work closely with our packaging supplier to design secure and sustainable packaging solutions tailored to all types of machines, ensuring optimal protection for every order.
We offer a range of reliable shipping services to destinations worldwide, dispatching items daily to ensure prompt delivery. Whether local or international, our logistics network is designed to get your order to you securely and on time.
